How to play GUATAFAC
Set up
Players
It’s designed for 3 or more players and really shines with larger groups of up to 10 or 12 players. In our opinion, it’s also suitable for 2 players.
Recommended for ages 16 and up.
Fair warning: it’s a hilariously inappropriate game — definitely not for kids, and maybe not for family night either 😉

Discovering the game cards
Guatafc is played with two types of cards: question cards -black- and answer cards -white-.
Multiple editions
GUATAFAC is a wild party game that has seen great success with several versions released. The gameplay mechanics are consistent across all editions, so if you learn to play the original GUATAFAC, you can play them all.

Turns
Each turn, a player asks a question — they’re the ‘GUATAFAC Master’ for that turn — and the player to their left must give one or several answers.
First GUATAFAC Master
Who goes first as the GUATAFAC Master? Totally up to you. Officially, it’s whoever has the lowest IQ 😂 — that should give you a taste of the game’s vibe.
Goal of the game
Who will win?
The player who scores 7 points by correctly answering 7 questions wins.
Playing a round of GUATAFAC
Setting up the cards
Create a small deck of about 40 or 50 cards — the game comes with 400 — and place it face down in the center of the table.
Question
The GUATAFAC Master for that turn takes the first card from the deck and reads it aloud.
8 seconds to respond
The player to the left of the GUATAFAC Master has 8 seconds to give their answers.
Valid answers… or not
After the 8 seconds are up, there are two possible outcomes:
If the answers were given within the time and the GUATAFAC Master accepts them, acting as the supreme judge at that moment, the player who answered keeps the card and earns a point.
If the answers are late, missing, or just wildly off and the GUATAFAC Master says nope, then the player who answered doesn’t earn any points, and the card is set aside.
Next turns
The player who answered in the previous turn becomes the new GUATAFAC Master and the player to their left answers. And so on.
More cards
If the deck runs out, a new one is created with different cards.
Choosing not to answer is an option
While the game includes some risqué questions and others that someone might consider politically incorrect, there’s always the option not to answer them, and that’s it.It’s totally fine to skip — everyone should respect that so the whole group stays comfy and has fun, which is the whole point.
End of the game. Who wins?
And the winner is…
The game ends when one of the players reaches 7 points, making them the winner.
GUATAFAC Drinking Variant
It’s easy to turn GUATAFAC into a drinking game. Just add two rules:
If you lose, you drink
If the player who has to answer doesn’t do it correctly, they have to drink.
If you win, you choose who drinks
If you answered correctly, you not only earn a point but also get to choose a player to drink.
GUATAFAC Scapegoat Variant
Another variation of the game involves the GUATAFAC Master choosing who should answer the question. They can read it in secret and then decide who they want to respond.
The GUATAFAC Master’s turn then passes successively to the player on the left so that everyone has the same chance to ask and choose who responds.
